Is Positive Thinking Part of Your Life?

It doesn’t take much to realize that most of us are in the grip of negative thinking. We live in an age where negative news, criticism and cynicism seem to rule the day. In fact, by much repetition, negativism has become an automatic response mechanism. It is almost as if it is easy to be negative and difficult to be positive. The curious fact is that it is easier and natural to think positive, while it is difficult to be negative. Why is that the case- the first level answer is that many, many people think negatively and have created such an energy storehouse of negative energy that it is very easy to connect to. The other levels of understanding are for professional seminars conducted by The Thinking Coach.

I train many groups and I have seen, first hand, how destructive the effect of negativity can be on the cohesion and productivity of individuals and groups.

When you read this you might ask yourself if it applies to you also- well, check it out. Here is a worthwhile challenge that may change your perceptions about living life: for the next week carry with you a small notebook and a pen. Monitor your thinking and each time you catch yourself having a negative thought, a criticism or a negative judgment about someone or about yourself, write it down. Then, follow it up with another week of writing down everything positive that you think. Compare the two. You’ll learn much, a lesson that no one else can provide for you.

When you think positive, you become positive, opportunities open up, possibilities become real and your forward projection makes your future bright. It’s that simple.

To be positive has many expressions. An important one is not giving up when things don’t succeed. Giving up is a symptom of negativity that prevents the struggle that belongs with new start hope.

It has been said that “beauty is in the eyes of the beholder” to which I will add that opportunity is in the perception and scope of the positive thinker, for as they think so they will see, and as they see so will they be.

Positive thinking is a crucial part of strategic thinking, which is essential to creating a vision. Vision is the ability to energize the future by creating a mental space for it to appear. If it sounds difficult it isn’t. We do it naturally without conscious control. We always think ahead but most of us don’t seize the opportunity to consciously think ahead and affect the future before it appears physically.

Some will say, all this is too soft and has nothing to do with hard core training of strategic thinking-well, let’s examine that and see what is the critical thinking that belongs with positive thinking, or in other words, why is it so important?

  1. Positive thinking is natural for humans and to have-it agrees with our body.
  2. Positive thinking seats upon an attitude of thankfulness, which is essential in the development of value added process.
  3. The third cause is to have a deep desire to be a person that is a source of good things for others and therefore to be accepted and respected.
  4. The fourth cause is to have a deep desire to always improve, in which positive thinking is the vehicle of your advancement.
  5. The fifth cause is to decide to stop letting your self down ever again-negativity minimizes everything and shrinks it down to lowest common denominator.
  6. The sixth cause is that negative thinking causes stress while positive thinking relieves stress.
  7. The seventh cause is that positive thinking helps many people stay healthy in mind and body.
  8. The eighth cause is that positive thinking creates opportunity while opening the mind to the big picture.
  9. The ninth cause is that positive thinking will boost your career and professional image.
  10. The tenth cause is that today, positive thinking is simply a strategy of survival necessity in the grueling demands of the business world.

If these 10 critical reasons aren’t convincing then you might wish to ask yourself what reasons you have, not to be positive.

How to do it?

  1. Firstly, you need to want it without conditions!
  2. Second, do the above mentioned exercise.
  3. Third, I can help! I can show within the context of strategic thinking seminar how to go about it, step by step, in a way that gets results, in personal or group dynamic.

This will put you on the path of success which will be long lasting.
Positive thinking has many outlets of expression that will open many doors, that you thought were closed, while negative thinking will keep these doors closed and hidden.
